Ponyboy believes the socs get all the breaks. Ponyboy says Dally had no specific thing to hate. Only socs. And you cant win against them no matter how hard you Ponyboy try, because they’ve got all the breaks and even whipping them isn’t going to change that fact. Maybe that was why Dallas was so bitter. I think that the socs do get all the breaks. I think if they didn’t get all the breaks they would be mad and and make sure they do get all the breaks. I think if the greasers did have all the breaks that the socs would make sure to take it from them. So that they had all the breaks. Ponyboy also says, Even if they did have their own troubles, I really couldn’t see what socs would have to sweat about-good grades, good cars, good girls, madras and mustangs and considers-man, I thought, if I had worries like that id consider myself lucky. They really don’t have to worry about anything cause they have good grades, good cars and good girls, but Ponyboy doesn’t have 4that stuff. The greasers would like to have that stuff instead of getting beat up and worry about everything. Ponyboy also says Cherry no longer looked sick, only sad. Ill bet you think the socs have made it. The rich kids, the west-side socs. Ill tell you something, Ponyboy, and it may come to you as a surprise. WE have troubles you’ve never even heard of. You want to know something? Things are rough all over. I think either if you are a socs or a greaser its going to be rough. Either. I think its going to be rough for all them no  matter what.
