My Attitude About School

Over the years, my attitude about school has changed. When I was younger, I felt that school was pretty easy because all we did was play and listen to the teacher read. Back then my favorite part of the school day was recess because I got to play with my friends. I also liked to listen to my teacher read. When it came to school, my biggest worry was being called on. I was very shy and my teacher was kind of mean. She liked putting kids on the spot.

Not that I'm in my 15th year of 8th grade, I love school. I love meeting new students every year and watching them improve over the year. Now my favorite part of the day is the time I spend with my students. They make me laugh, mostly for the right reasons, and they keep me on my toes.  Now, when it comes to school, my biggest worry is not meeting the needs of my students. I want to make sure that all students feel safe and welcome in my classroom.

If I were to ever leave Hoyt, I think I would like to teach at a University. I would be up for the challenge of teacher older students and preparing them for the world of life after school.
