Ponyboy believes the socs get all the breaks. Ponyboy says “Dally had no specific thing to hate. Only the socs. And you cant win against them no matter how hard you try because they’ve got all the breaks and whipping them isn’t going to change that fact. Maybe that was why Dallas was so bitter”. I think the socs do get all breaks they get everything there way because if they don’t they get all mad and make sure they get there way. But when it comes to greasers they have no breaks they are poor have less money then the socs and have way more family problems then the socs do. Ponyboy also says “even if they did have their own troubles, I really couldn’t see what socs would have to sweat about – good grades, good cars, goof girls, madras and mustangs and corvairs – man , I thought , if I had worries like that consider myself lucky”. They really don’t have anything to worrie about they have money, nice cars , girlfriends everything that the greasers would ever want or at least to fit in instead of getting beat up every time they walk down the street or having this kids brothers or family an friends getting jumped and killed every time the walk around. But the other side would say “I’ll bet you think the socs have made it. The rich kids, the west-side socs. I’ll tell you something pnoyboy,  and  it may come to you as a surprise. WE have troubles you’ve never even heard of. You want to know something. Things are rough all over” Yes people can have problems all over but the socs have less to worry about they’re popular, nice cars , good girlfriends anything that people like ponyboy want so yeah the greasers have way more problems and socs gave all the breaks they want.so that’s why I think that the socs get all the breaks. They don’t have to worry about anything that important maybe like schools but everyone has that worry but they just always get the good grades without even trying and this is what I think.
