         I believe Ponyboy is more realistic because the Socs have more money so they could buy more things to make them happy. Greasers barely have any money so they can’t buy happiness. The Socs have nice cars and the Greasers have old beat up cars. The Greasers wear old leather jackets, jeans, and normal T-shirts, unlike the Socs where they wear Madras jackets. In the book, according to Ponyboy, “ Even if they did have their own troubles, I really couldn’t see what Socs would have to sweat about – good grades, good cars, good girls, madras and Mustangs and Corvairs – Man, I thought, if I had worries like that I’d consider myself lucky.”
