Catching Fire
In class, we are reading the book Catching Fire by: Suzanne
Collins. We are talking about Defiance, here are some examples from the book.
On page 236,
Katniss shows an act of defiance by saying “I drag one of the dummies out into
the middle of the floor using chinning bars to hang it so it dangles. In her
private session with the game makers, she hung a dummy with Seneca cranes name
on it. On page 236-237 she said “This is to remind them of his death.”
In Peeta’s
private session, he painted a picture of Rue’s body covered in flowers from the
last game. President Snow doesn’t want them to respect each other. On page 240
Peeta says “I was trying to hold them accountable for killing that little
girl.”
During the
interviews they talked trash about Snow and the games. Chaff insist that “Snow
could change the quell if he wanted to. But he must not think it matters much
to anyone.”
Cinna turns
the wedding dress that Snow demanded Katniss to wear into Mockingjay. He turned
her into the symbol of rebellion. Promoting the rebel cause. On page 251-252 it
says “as I notice the crowd screaming it wasn’t stunning it was smoke from the
fire.
Now that I
told you about Catching Fire I hope you will read it more. It is an awesome
book and you might like it. You never know.
