Ponyboy has a more realistic standpoint, because he has a difficult time with his parent’s recent deaths. On the other side of the argument Cherry explains how both the Greasers and Socs both have it rough. One reason Ponyboy has a more realistic stand point is the greasers have less money and less privilege.    

      One reason the Greasers have it worst off is they have less money to get schooled which forces them to drop out of school early to support their families in the bills . For example Darry Pony’s brother dropped out of school to support his two brothers. But on the other side Soc’s will most likely be able to go to college and not drop out of high school.

      Another reason the Greaser’s have it worse than the Soc’s is they are most likely more privileged ,because the Soc’s drive blue Mustangs and red Corvairs , also the Soc’s have enough time to jump Greasers. Most likely because they don’t have to work due to their privileged lives.

      Some may argue that “Things are rough allover” said Cherry Valence on page 34. However the Greasers have it worst off because they are not as privileged as the Soc’s.

        In conclusion the Greasers have it worse off than the Greasers because of the money and privileged differences from the Soc’s.
