Why things are rough all around.

In the Outsiders, Ponyboy thinks that socs have it way better than the greasers

The Socs have Mustangs and Red Covairs and all the greasers have is there greasy hair.

In the book the outsiders on page 11 Ponyboy says “Dally had no specific thing to hate. Only socs. And you can’t win against them no matter how hard you try, because they’ve got all the breaks and even whipping them isn’t going to change the fast. Maybe that was why Dallas was so bitter.” I believe that if the socs and greasers switched shoes they would realize there not that different.

Outsider’s page34 “Cherry no longer looked sick, only sad. I’ll bet you think the socs have it made. The rich kids, the west-side socs. I’ll tell you something, Ponyboy, and it may come to a surprise. WE have troubles you’ve never even heard of.” I think Cherry is right its rough all over.

All though some may argue that this is not true However, even the rich have their problems. In conclusion the socs and greasers have there on problems no one is perfect.
